1E Automates Securing Windows 10 - It starts with UEFI

1E make Software Lifecycle Automation easy.  Security is paramount.  A fundamental of Windows 10 security is  UEFI with Secure Boot.  1E automates BIOS to UEFI with Secure boot right in a SCCM Task Sequence.

Post Session Link References - https://shauncassells.wordpress.com/2016/10/20/hasmug16-automate-securing-windows-10-it-starts-with-uefi-compelling-events/

Windows 10 servicing model cadence of 4 updates a year (target by 2018) means that gigabytes of data are going over the WAN every month.  The arcane model of hiring bodies and using sneaker net will NOT work.  1E in partnership with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and your OEM (Dell, HP, LENOVO, etc) can automate a secure Windows 10 migration.  Without UEFI and secure boot you do not get Device Guard, Credential guard, Windows Hello or restful sleep (Don't want calls at 2am).  Systems Management delivery, with zero business impact, is only a small part.  What exactly are we trying to deliver? How do we empower users to get what the business needs?  1E solves it all with Microsoft supported integration.  Why try to ice skate up hill?

Centralizing Mac and PC Management via Microsoft SCCM with Parallels Mac Management

IT organizations are looking to manage their Macs alongside their existing Windows systems using in-place tools already used in enterprises like SCCM.  Just like Windows device management we’d expect at the very least the ability to do bare metal imaging from SCCM, discovery and inventory, encrypt endpoint disks, create task sequences to manage devices, patch management, deploy and manage software and set compliance settings and control devices - which Parallels Mac Management in SCCM can do.

Mac management in the enterprise is sometimes non-existent, put together with a very expensive dedicated management platform or cobbled together with a home-brew of open source free unsupported toolsets.  It doesn’t have to be this way.  Simplify multiple consoles and processes, utilize the skills of in-place SCCM admins on an enterprise platform you already have purchased and know how to use.

Windows 10 Servicing in the Real World

To improve the overall quality of Windows, and to reduce the overall complexity of the patching process, we have reworked the patching process altogether with Windows 10.  In this session, we will explore these changes and demonstrate how it works.

With Windows 10, we’ve introduced a brand new way of building, deploying and servicing Windows – three very distinct changes, but it’s important to understand each one separately. In this session, we will discuss these changes, things to consider, and demonstrate what it looks like to service a Windows 10 client in the real-world. We will also cover pre-requisites, gotchas, and new acronyms to know such as CB, CBB, and LTSB.
